Good for trips and to learn on.
We purchased a Colman Road Trip grill a few years ago to go along with us on our camping trips. Its a very well built unit with solid construction. Its fairly easy to clean and does a great job. Heat is even and very predictable. Also the cast iron grates makes for good carmalization. Thus far all the food we put to Colman has turned out great. Read complete review here.

Cute BBQ.
We bought this BBQ when we first set out RVing full-time. It served it’s purpose for awhile, and also looked great! On the road one day, the top came off and we managed to lose it….wasn’t much good after that! Our next BBQ was the Weber Baby Q. Read complete review here.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great griller minus the top,
December 30, 2009
This is an awesome grill and I love using it. Only negative aspect is that you cant grill with the lid closed as the handle starts to melt. Travels very easy for camping trips also. It folds up like a suitcase and has wheels to pull it like a “roller board” suitcase.
2.0 out of 5 stars Good for Road trips, but nothing else,

If you are only going to use this grill twice a year it would be perfect.
The first grill I got blew up in my face, but luckily I was not harmed. Coleman sent me a replacement grill. I was pretty happy using it, until it started to fall apart. First the tray fell off, then the red coating turned black, then grill tops started flaking and rusting, making it impossible to use as the coating sticks to the food. I only use my grill during the summer and not that frequently and I’ve only had it two summers, meaning the thing has probably been used maybe 50 times.
I called Coleman to see if they would replace the grill tops, but all they were willing to do was give 15% off. Well, at $30/grill top (you need two) plus shipping, it’s almost half what I paid for the grill. They claim it is regular wear and tear and compared it to my kitchen pots and pans. I have never had a kitchen pan last me 1.5 years and fall apart, and they get much more use than this grill does.
Unless you are solely using this for pre-game fun or camping you are probably ok, just be careful in transport as pieces are easy to break off… mine did wheeling it across the porch 5 feet. This is not meant for average or even low normal grilling use. You are better off buying a stand-up grill at Home Depot for much less.

Since receiving this product, we have enjoyed grilling even more and the clean-up is very easy to do. It’s nice to know that we can store the grill in an out-of-the-way place especially when there’s limited room available! I would recommend the grill to anyone who wishes to utilize cooking with very little sacrafices concerning whole meal cookouts. I am glad we settled on purchasing this unit for future uses, both at home, and ‘on the road’!

Great tailgating grill. Small to transport, yet convenient to use. Recommend for traveling, camping, tailgating or for emergency cooking. Not for everyday use due to the cost of gas in the small bottles, but could be fitted with a large bottle.
5.0 out of 5 stars I love my grill,

This is the best, most practical grill ever. Clean up is an ease and portability is easy. I bought this as a christmas present for my husband. Boy did i score alot of points. We both love it and use it at home and camping.
I came across the Coleman RoadTrip 9949-750 Series by chance at a local building and home center, and was impressed with its size and ease of portability.

Bought this item for it’s small size. Perfect
However, when we first used it we were a bit disappointed (surprised) that it did not cook like grills that we were used to. (coals or gas with coals)
but, after a few times we loved it.
Heats up really fast, no odor, and the the actual grills are easy to keep clean. We spray a little spam on the grill tops and whatever we are cooking is done in no time
The gas bottles are inexpensive (2 for 5 dollars)
We have used it about 6 times and still on bottle #1.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Grill, Don’t listen to the bad reviews!,
April 6, 2010
After researching the Weber Q grill and this grill, I decided on this one. I was most hesitant in ordering it because of all the bad reviews centering around the quality of this grill. Those bad reviews were bad only because the users didnt know how to operate this grill. I fed a group of 15 people at our Easter Picnic making about 50 lamb chops! It operated better that I ever expected! The propane tank lasted for hours and I even bought an extra to use in case it ran out, but it still had juice left! Clean up was easy thanks to the suggestion of using foil. All in all, if youre looking for a great travel grill that actually works, is simple to transport and set up, AND is VERY WELL MADE, choose the Coleman… you wont regret it!
4.0 out of 5 stars Powerful for a Portable So far so Good,

After reading some of the reviews I almost took this back, I’m glad I didn’t. Don’t expect to cook on high with the top down, your talking 20,000 btu. BUT I don’t think you’d ever need to. I have cooked twice on this so far BBQ corn (6) and hot links(10)and BBQ corn (8) and (4) large pork tenderloins. The first time I set this thing on low closed the top and walked went to get everything else ready… I about cremated the corn… my fault I should have paid more attention the first time… the links cooked nice and even across both sides. Had more people over this time I set the controls under low closed the top and in about 15 min the corn turned out perfect, boosted the temp to just over low, this was enough to give the loins a good sear dropped the temp to just below low turned and checked temp of meat about every 10 min. and ended up with one of the best pork tenderloins I have cooked, grill marks, evenly cooked. They not only tasted great they looked great. I have cooked the two meals on one 1lb propane canister and still some left… that’s about a $1.25 per meal way cheaper than charcoal, and now that I know I’m keeping it I’ll hook it up to a 20 lb tank and cook even cheaper, It has plenty of power and room to cook for 6 if not 8 adults at a time fast, a big plus if you have tried to cook of a group on an underpowered small grill. It also comes with a 5 year warranty… So far so Good….
