Weber 566002 Q 220 Gas Grill, finds it’s place midway in Weber’s Q-series line-up of compact gas grills. At first glance, a noticeable addition is clearly visible, the handy side trays.  One of the thoughtful accessories, which are added as you move up within this particular line of compact grills.

Having side trays may not seem like a huge advancement for the extra money, but keep in mind in following the idea of compact and each individuals needs, Weber is clearly offering many choices, as not every grill is the right fit, for everyone when it comes to being “compact”.

These side trays of the Weber 566002 Q 220 Gas Grill, which by the way are fold-able with clips for hanging cooking tools may be a great convince for many and ultimately a deciding factor for a purchase.

Grilling is most enjoyable when the space around the grill has a work-flow, and that is exactly what the addition of these trays provide. A handy place for food prep, before and after the food is cooked, keeping grilling tools handy at all times, while providing a place for the “Grill Master” to park, his or her favorite beverage, while masterfully grilling the perfect burger.

We returned the first unit we received due to lighting problems. Its not as bad, but it still won’t light consistently on the first try.

The Coleman 9940-A55 Roadtrip Party Grill, is a wonderful mini compact grill, it should not be purchased, to replace any mid-size grill, or even to be compared to one. Being a mini compact grill, it does have limitations that would naturally go along with it’s size. Perfect for two – three people,  anymore would be pushing beyond it’s capabilities.

Some, Good Points to Owning the Coleman Party Grill:

• Easy to carry, easy to assemble, and most importantly, easy to use
• Reliable, portable grill
• A small section of the grill is solid and flat for use as a griddle
• Cooking speed is greatest in the center, slower toward the edges
• Great for boiling
• Grill can be assembled in less than 10 minutes, no tools are required
• Push  button start
• Uses propane cylinder (not included)
• Total grill is dishwasher-safe except the burner assembly
• Blue plastic lid, which also can be used to steady your grill on soft surfaces, such as sand
• PerfectFlow regulator ensures consistent cooking performance in cold weather, high altitudes or when fuel is low
• Detailed instructions are included

A grill this size must have a downfall:

Understandable, with a mini grill, there may be some shortcomings. It’s a trade-off that comes with ultra portability but should not have an impact on the buyer, if keeping in mind this is a mini grill.

• May have a flimsy feel to it
• Too small for more then 3 people
• Single middle burner
• Thick cuts may not cook evenly

Important User Tip:

Once you get the grill in place, leave it there–the removable legs can fall out if you’re moving the grill from place to place.

Second One..Still Great

I’ve had one of these for about 10 years – one of the old black ones. It is really great for my wife and I (and the occasional small party) and we use it every week all year long. The bottom finally fell out and the heat distribution plate was so warped and corroded, it was unrecognizable. Awesome video! What more could one ask for, in a grill that will be ready whenever you are.

Another nice addition, is the travel bag, which is also included. Nobody, thinks about the return trip home, till the moment comes. This bag, will keep your car, truck, RV, or boat clean. No, worries, of transferring, any cooking mess, from dirty grill, to vehicle’s carpet and upholstery. Keep the mess contained.

Good for trips and to learn on.

We purchased a Colman Road Trip grill a few years ago to go along with us on our camping trips. Its a very well built unit with solid construction. Its fairly easy to clean and does a great job.
