30 years later…

we’re still using our Weber G-A. Bought it when we were dating in the late ’70′s. Got married, had kids, sent them off to college, & this little grill was along for the adventure many times. I’ve usually kept it in the garage or covered porch when not in use so it has held up very well. None of the porcelin finish has come off, the stainless steel vent controls are fine, & the teak handles are OK (tho the lid’s handle is getting a little charred on the underside.) This is a great review to read.

With just, the modest of care, you could past this compact grill, down through generations. Cast-Iron, is a truly treasured cooking material, known by many but used by so few these days.  Sadly so, the health benefits, are wonderful, with the end result, some great tasting cooked dishes on the Lodge Logic Pre-Seasoned Sportsman’s Charcoal Grill.

Compact, Cast-Iron and Simplicity is great, but lets take even a closer look.

Need to move it, while cooking, no problem.  It has a sturdy carrying handle for move-ability. Cooking grates swing out away from the heat source.

Great feature, to keep the food warm without the burn. Four attached legs, keeps the grill, up off surfaces. Cleaning is a snap! Dump the coal, then brush out, using a stiff cleaning brush.

Word of caution:

The attached legs, do become very hot. Take care, and the proper precautions, if using this grill on a wood surface, such a deck or picnic table. Using a non-burnable  surface, bricks or patio blocks would be ideal to protect such surfaces.
